10 D.I.Y. workshops, 2 Festival areas, network television coverage and 12+ lifestyle vendors launched 1st Los Angeles Bicycle Festival on Sunday, February 16, 2014. Focused on transportation cycling; with kids, fashion, public transport and other beginner topics. Attendees ranged from young families to retired adults. Feeder rides to the event in Hollywood at the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center started from Pomona, Santa Monica, Echo Park and Watts – an impressive show of regional interest and solidarity for bicycling.
Los Angeles is the second largest metropolitan area in the United States, yet didn’t have a major consumer expo for brands, advocates, ride and culture groups to promote and party together. Our unique combination of location accessibility, fun educational workshops, hot lifestyle brands and local personalities attracted a diverse mix of attendees and gathered rave reviews demanding another one in 2016!
